Thank you :) :) I sat on this story for a bit. It's a sensitive topic, but wow, what a memory for me, that day. I hope you are great! I've been off Substack for the last week and need to catch up on all my subscriptions. :)

It’s an amazing story! Yes I’m great, tired but ok. Hope you enjoyed your time away, and have fun catching up.

Great piece. You actually made me sympathize for the bee after it stings, which is some achievement, considering I was once attacked and got more than 10 stings in my head. See the opening to https://johnsonp.substack.com/p/an-eye-to-the-sky

Wow, what a story. I can’t believe they stung your head that many times! Are you allergic or was hospitable just precaution?

It was more to get medicine to reduce the hurt and swelling. But every time I hear a bee buzz, I flinch, and yet I love to watch them. It's all part of diabolical and magical yin and yang of nature, right? Or maybe that's too precious.

This was very enjoyable Lara. And some important perspective. My Mom learned i was allergic to bee stings as a toddler, after two trips to the emergency room. Growing up i always thought of bees as an annoyance to an otherwise normal childhood of tromping and romping around. Then i learned if i want to eat, i need to appreciate and protect them for their huge contribution everyone's life. Thanks for sharing and for saving those bees

I’m glad you enjoyed. But the bees did not survive unfortunately. I tried to get the garbage men to help and called several bee removal experts. No one came. The water drowned them.

Oh i misread then. I thought lost a few and saved the masses. Still its A for effort.

It was a TOUGH day. As a nature photographer, I respect all the critters big and small. I even saved a hissing snake that got in my house! But the bees were so crazy, I’d never seen a swarm like that before. I live on a busy street with lots of kids… 😞

You performed a monumental and frightening task that perhaps saved a child passing by from a painful maybe even life-threatening encounter with the bees.

Bees are amazing and very glad to know that efforts have been made here in Florida to offset the harm that some pesticide use can cause. Love your article.

That is good hear! So many TOXIC pesticides. I feel like all the good things are being killed so weeds don't grow.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. :)
