My wife always used to ask me why I would weekly take our boys to the zoo. She loved the zoo but wondered why I would want to do the same thing so often, and I would tell her, "Because something new happens every day at the zoo." But perhaps another reason is because of what you say: "The zoo is minutes from closing but no one seems to want to leave. It is safe here and there is laughter along with the sound of water hitting the concrete." There's something be said for that kind of safety and innocent laughter, especially for children living in a world that is often so unsafe.

It’s so true Peter, I guess in the same way the animals are safe in their enclosures from the humans that come to visit them. The humans are safe in the perimeter and enclosure of the zoo from the humans on the outside. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I’ve been out of the Substack loop for the last 30 days or so due to time annd other priorities I have. But hoping to be more regular starting this month.

Sounds like a perfect day at the zoo Lara. It’s hard to believe that your baby is growing up so fast!

It was a brief, but beautiful afternoon, with a dead body to end it. That's PBC for ya!

That photo with the water caught in mid motion with your son is pretty cool. Thanks for the warm and casual afternoon stroll. It's 38 degrees this morning at 7200 elevation in the Rockies.

Sorry been off Substack for the last month. Just so much going on. Getting back in the groove though.

Well, this environment (substack) will carry on regardless of us. Our personal lives will always take the priority.
